Embrace the magic of the holiday season with a flurry of reindeer-inspired creativity! Engaging young learners in lower elementary classrooms becomes an enchanting experience with these 10 captivating and educational reindeer crafts, games, and lessons. As we approach Christmas, there’s no better way to infuse the classroom with festive cheer than by exploring the whimsical world of Santa’s reindeer. From delightful crafts that spark imagination to interactive games and educational lessons, these activities promise a jolly journey through the enchanting realm of these beloved holiday icons. Let’s dive into a world of antlers, hooves, and red noses as we embark on an adventure sure to bring joy and learning to our students’ holiday celebrations!

REINDEER GAMES!

Reindeer Relay Races: Set up a relay race where students wear reindeer antlers or carry a reindeer plush toy, passing it to teammates as they run a designated course before tagging the next teammate.

Reindeer Draw and Tell: Demonstrate how to draw a reindeer step-by-step on the board, encouraging children to add their creative details. Afterward, ask each student to describe their reindeer to the class.

Reindeer Dance Party: Play a mix of festive songs and encourage students to move and prance around the classroom, pretending to be Santa’s reindeer.

Reindeer Craft: Light up the nights with this fun reindeer Christmas lights name craft.  Simply add your student names and generate a class list full of lights ready to glue onto Rudolph’s antlers!

Reindeer Storytime: Read a classic story like “The Wild Christmas Reindeer” by Jan Brett, followed by a discussion about the story’s themes and characters.

Reindeer Snack Time: Organize a snack session featuring “reindeer food” like pretzel sticks, chocolate-covered raisins, and carrot sticks to mimic the reindeer’s favorite treats.

Reindeer Puppets: Provide templates or materials for students to craft reindeer puppets using paper bags, felt, and markers, encouraging them to create their unique designs.

Reindeer Name Game: Have students invent their reindeer names using alliteration or rhymes, then explain the characteristics their reindeer possess based on their chosen names.

Reindeer Hats: Turn all your students into mini Prancers and Blitzens with this adorable reindeer antler hat!

Reindeer Relay Drawing: Divide the class into teams, and start with a basic shape (like a circle) for the reindeer’s body. Each team member adds a part (like antlers, legs, or a tail) without seeing the previous additions, creating an imaginative reindeer drawing collectively.

May your holiday season be filled with peace, love and joy.  Merry Christmas.
