For many years I always read ‘Chicka-Chicka Boom Boom’ to my kindergarteners at the beginning of school. Every day. Every day. Until October.
There’s a reason this book is a timeless classic. Students love the rhythm, the bright colors, the rhymes. Teachers love that the book continues to engage students, while helping with letter identification.
This year I’ve updated my coconut tree craft that I made every year with students. I used to give them a coconut tree and letter stickers, but we never had enough ‘a’s and always too many ‘x’s. So I decided to improve the craft by making it editable. The tree trunk has the child’s name and the letter tiles are personalized for every student so that there are always enough ‘a’s!
This craft is available at my Teachers Pay Teachers store and makes the perfect Open House bulletin board!
