For Preschool and kindergarten students, the most important word in the world is their name!

My students enjoyed tracing their names in sand, colored salt (with warnings about not to put it in their mouths!) and paint filled zip lock bags that were secured with electrical tape.

Rolling play-doh and making snakes to fit into our name outlines is a great fine motor activity.

We also used name outlines with paint and q-tips or bingo daubers.

And with tweezers for picking up tiny pieces of paper and gluing them into the outlines as a mosaic. Talk about working those muscles!

We also had lots of practice with letter tiles and magnetic letters matching.
